San Diego Choral Arts Ensemble Announces England/Ireland Tour Music Concert on Sunday, July 10th at 3 PM
The next local SDCAE concert will be performed at Saint Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 16275 Pomerado Road, Poway, CA,
SDCAE will combine with additional touring singers to present 15th century medieval music and 20th century spirituals performed in Latin, German and English.
These are the pieces that will be performed at concerts in England and Ireland this summer. Venues will include the Cathedrals in Blackburn, Durham, & Coventry; York Minster & Christ Church in Dublin.
Tickets are available for a $10 donation.
Live performance of unique high quality choral music is the goal of the 40+ member expanded San Diego Choral Arts Touring Choir led by Dr. William J. Eichorn.
This ambitious goal has been realized by way of concerts in San Diego, as well as on five biennial tours of major venues in Europe.
Most recently, in 2003, the singers traveled to the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany and Italy; highlighted by performing in Venice at Basilica San Marco.
Dr. Eichorn, formerly a solo artist with the New York City Opera, said: "These wonderfully talented singers have been specially selected to accomplish the unique blend of voices that makes choral music soar. It is a thrill to return to Europe, where I studied and made my debut, with such a group. Inspired choral music has always been my first love."
Dr. Eichorn also serves as Minister of Music and the Arts for Saint Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Poway.
